Project Overview:

Nestled in the heart of Bijoy Rakeen City, Mirpur, Dhaka, this 1250 square feet residence underwent a transformative interior renovation to enhance its functionality, aesthetics, and overall comfort. The project aimed to infuse modern design elements while incorporating durable materials such as High Pressure Laminate (HPL) Board, Red Oak Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), and Gorjon Ply. The finishing touches were applied using HPL and Duco paints, creating a seamless blend of style and substance. With a concise timeline of 1 month, the project was executed with meticulous planning and skilled craftsmanship.

Design Concept:

The design concept centered around creating a harmonious balance between contemporary style and practicality. The main objective was to maximize the available space while ensuring each room felt open and welcoming. Neutral color palettes were chosen to create an airy and serene ambiance, allowing the rooms to feel spacious and interconnected.

Material Selection:

  1. High Pressure Laminate (HPL) Board: HPL was chosen for its durability and versatility. It was used to create sleek kitchen cabinets and countertops, as well as wall paneling in the living area. Its resistance to moisture and wear makes it ideal for high-traffic areas.
  2. Red Oak Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF): Red Oak MDF was employed for custom-made furniture pieces, such as the dining table and chairs. Its natural wood texture adds warmth to the interiors while providing sturdiness.
  3. Gorjon Ply: Gorjon Ply was used for crafting bedroom wardrobes and storage units. Known for its strength and smooth finish, it ensured that the functional aspects of the design were well-executed.

Color Palette:

The chosen color palette included soft whites, light greys, and warm wooden tones. This palette not only created an illusion of more space but also promoted a calming and inviting atmosphere.

Paint Selection:

  • HPL: HPL paint was applied to the wall paneling in the living area, adding depth and texture to the space. The chosen color complemented the overall color scheme.
  • Duco: Duco paint was used for accent furniture pieces, like the MDF dining set. Its glossy finish added a touch of elegance to the interiors.

Project Execution:

The renovation was completed within the stipulated timeframe of 1 month, thanks to careful planning and skilled execution. The process involved:

  • Demolition and Preparation: Removal of structures, wall finishes, and prepping the space for the upcoming changes.
  • Carpentry and Furniture Crafting: Custom crafting of kitchen cabinets, countertops, wardrobes, and furniture pieces using the selected materials.
  • Installation: Expert installation of the newly crafted elements, ensuring precision and durability.
  • Finishing Touches: Application of paint finishes, accessorizing, and arranging furniture to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality.

Conclusion:

The interior renovation of this Bijoy Rakeen City residence successfully transformed the space into a modern haven of comfort and style. With the clever use of materials like HPL, Red Oak MDF, and Gorjon Ply, and the application of HPL and Duco paints, the project achieved a seamless integration of design elements. The end result is a residence that not only reflects the owner's taste and personality but also prioritizes functionality and durability.
